Health and Wellness Workshops and Coaching
A wellness coach works with clients to encourage them to look at and make changes to those aspects of their lives that are unhealthy, this could include changing dietary habits, getting more exercise, stress reduction, quitting smoking, to name a few. However, a good coach won’t simply tell people they have to start reducing harmful habits or engaging in new more healthy behaviors. They’ll work with a client to figure out how factors in their present life contributes to those behaviors, and explore what can be done to change these behaviors resulting in change is that easier and has long lasting results.
Often times we have found our clients are overweight, stressed, or indulging in unhealthy behaviors like not exercising, working long unproductive hours, smoking and/or excessive alcohol and drug use. Attending a workshop can result in certain behavior change, but receiving coaching from an expert, statistically, results in more long term lifestyle changes. At MediStat our certified wellness coach helps people to find ways to increase their overall health, increase energy and vitality, all by pursuing a healthier lifestyle that is congruent with their specific goals and desired outcomes.
Workshops and Lunch & Learn Options
Each of the following workshops has been designed to work for breakfast meetings, lunch and learns and in support of speaking engagements. Our goal is to increase personal and corporate energy, reduce stress and create thriving, resilient individuals and workplaces. We are committed to corporate health and wellness. Each offering will naturally accommodate a workshop of up to 3 hours long as well, by adding more participant sharing, small group work and then adding a standard “take away” exercise. In all our workshops, we aim to create three outcomes: increasing energy, learning and creating positive change, recognizing that the first two greatly encourage the third.
The way we work, isn't working. Our clients report feeling frustrated by being bombarded with constant interruptions, having to answer numerous emails, working longer hours, but accomplishing less. Likewise they report feeling like they rarely have time to focus on key projects and are frustrated, feel tried and unengaged at work. We have developed a number of energizing programs that combines the latest research on how to increase efficiency, productivity and energy in the workplace in order to have employees that feel deeply satisfied in their jobs, fully engaged in their work and still have energy for their lives, outside of work.
Being authentically fulfilled creates a contagious energy and deep sense of purpose. Vitality is the foundation for success and increasing energy both personally and professionally. Living and working in a way that doesn’t honor your core values leads to a great deal of stress. Living in an incongruent manner, inhibits your creativity, productivity and eventually your health. We help identify your core values and create opportunities to honor them both personally and professionally. What are your core values? What is important to you? How do you show up in work and life? This workshop uses a “light” exercise to facilitate a key learning – “What are my core values and how do I use them to inform who I am personally and professionally?” The energy is high as the facilitator is managing a fast paced values mining process. The transformation is created through each individual or group creating S.M.A.R.T. goals as a value honoring implementation plan.
Vision and Strategy
Create your personal plan to span the distance between the life and career so that you have and your best life, career and biggest impact. This workshop is intended to help you dream big, using a Strategy document. The learning is to build the bridge between where the participant is (Wheel of Life) and where they want to get to (Big Dream). The energy is created by two paths: 1) who do you need to be to make this happen and 2) what do you need to do to make this happen. The energy that is created is excitement, as it all becomes clear, believable and doable.
Eating and Exercise
We are passionate about all areas of health and wellness. This is not your standard take on this subject, nor is it a one size fits all approach. What if you could find a way to make changes to your eating or exercise plan that really helped you feel better, tasted good and the exercise made you want to put your running shoes on? We find ways for each participant to create a plan that works for them. We combine the latest research in combination with our coaching expertise on eating and exercise to create an easy healthy lifestyle plan for you to follow and we guarantee that you will see results. You will feel better, you will have more energy and you will be less stressed out.
Identify the Imbalance
Living a life that is out of balance can be very costly to your health and sense of well being. To enjoy your best life and have the biggest impact, the first thing to do is get real clear about your ‘here’ and your ‘there’. We ask some simple questions, “Where are you feeling overwhelmed? What elements at work and at home are off kilter? What do you need more of? What do you need less of? ” and then move beyond the balance basics. Using a “Wheel of Life” assessment, the participants will be grounded in where they are starting from and then creating some concrete action steps to become more balanced. The learning is not only that we do not typically dream big enough for tomorrow or take actions to make those dreams a reality, but we do not often enough assess how we are living today. The energy is created by using the practical exercise and then creating a personalized take away that creates more balance, starting that day.
Implement the Balance
Building on the findings of first workshop, this workshop is developed and customized to address the findings of the first. We look at what the small action steps brought to your life and then fine tune a Balance plan that can be taken into even more areas of work and life. We look at topics like time management, making priorities, goal setting, work/personal life balance, finances; amongst other topics. The goal is to see what’s working, what needs more attention and to create a more sustainable and long term balanced life and workplace
Daily stressors, when not assessed and properly addressed can lead increased sick days, lower corporate productivity, disconnected relationships and lead to wide variety of illnesses. The cost of stress is massive and can have the same effect on your health as smoking a pack of cigarettes a day! We help you assess the stress in your life, and look at ways to reduce the stress, implement healthy ways of handling it and ways to create healthy habits, for yourself and your workplace.
Stress Mastery-The Road to Resilience
Some companies and individuals bounce back with seeming ease and thrive in times of transition and challenge; that's resilience. Learning the keys to resilience provides the foundations for long term success. Learn some fundamental skills in order to bounce back after change or better yet being prepared for the turns in the road that lie ahead. You may be surprised at some of the keys to developing resilience. You will learn some practical skills and be encouraged to make some changes that will help you manage day to day and master long term stress.
High conflict and ineffective communication places strain on relationships, is extremely stressful and reduces personal and corporate success. The ability to be a competent communicator is a cornerstone to healthy and thriving relationships at work or at home. This session will provide participants with new skills to communicate in more effective ways. Learn how to have a win/win conversation, lower defenses, and create a greater sense of collaboration. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of effective communication and will practice and learn how to speak, listen and provide feedback that leads to a greater level of success in any environment.
